This pilot study is accumulating climatic data at 68 sites in the United States by means of color and black and white film - still and motion picture - under various seasonal conditions. Ultimately, a photographic library of world climates and seasonal contrasts could result.nA series of programmed textbooks were designed to teach both knowledge and skill in low altitude aerial observation, and were tried out on a group of experimental students.nThese students made substantial gains in their accuracy in locating targets -gains which were quite similar to those achieved by students undergoing the conventional 16-hour course of instruction. Their average time for covering the programmed course was 15 hours, with a range of from 9 to 22 hours for individual students, each of whom progressed through the material at his own rate of speed.
