This study was designed to determine whether there are significant differences in quantity and quality of job information obtained by recognition and recall methods of job analysis, as represented by two checklist inventories and an open-end questionnaire. A secondary pur¬pose was to determine whether there are significant differences in the job information obtained by two checklist inventories which differ in the source of the data used in their construction. One, designated a recall source inventory, was prepared from recall information submitted by job incumbents. The other instrument, designated a recognition source inventory, was constructed by subject matter-experts.
