INVESTIGATION OF THE MIXING OF COAXIAL HETEROGENEOUS GAS JETS AS APPLIED TO SUPERSONIC COMBUSTION

An experimental investigation of the turbulent mixing of a sonic jet of helium discharging coaxially into a supersonic jet of air was made using a two dimensional mixing chamber.nVolumetric concentration profiles were obtained and mass concentration and velocity along the jet centerline were plotted. The results indicated that both these vary inversely with the distance from the mixing origin raised to a four third power.
