Respiratory water loss was investigated with a group of normal subjects breathing oxygen orally. Data were collected from all subjects under three absolute pressures (3.5, 7.0, and 14.7 p.s.i.), three work rates on a treadmill (0, 2, and 4 m.p.h.), three humidifies of the inspired oxygen (40° F., 60° F., and 80° F. dew point), and three dry bulb temperatures of the inspired oxygen (95° F., 75° F., and 55° F.). The data were analyzed statistically.
