摘要

The initial aim of the research project was to develope a gas chromatographic detector based upon response to dielectric properties of the consitituent. The detector consisted of two Clapp oscillators which were beat using a diode mixer circuit to give a difference frequency which was measured using a frequency meter and a recorder. The tank circuit of one of the Clapp oscillators (the sample oscillator) contained a cylindrical condenser through which the carrier gas plus sample gas passed. The other Clapp oscillator (the reference oscillator) had a variable air capacitor in the tank circuit.
