FLOW PROPERTIES OF DILUTE SOLUTIONS OF. POLYMERS: PartⅠ-Mechanism Of Drag Reduction

摘要

This report shows, from a theoretical discussion and analysis of experimental data, that the fractional reduction of the friction factor of a conventional liquid induced by polymeric solutes is proportional, at infinite dilution, to the 1/3 power of the Weissenberg number. It also shows that additives will not, usually, delay transition.
