CALCULATION OF THE FIELD OF AN ASYMMETRICAL STRIP TRANSMISSION LINE TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE THICKNESS OF THE STRIP

An asymmetrical strip line represents a conducting strip of the width b at the distance d from the grounded conducting plane, the space between the strip and the plane being filled with air. The computation of the field of such a line with an infinitely thin current-carrying strip is given in reference (1).nBy making use of the formulas given in (1) it is possible to determine with sufficient accuracy for practical purposes the flux of power along the strip line and find the maximum power which it is possible to transmit along the line without risking its breakdown.
