Literature Survey of Corrosion Prevention in Idle Boilers

摘要

A survey of the literature was conducted to gain insight into the possibility of finding a chemical additive that will prevent corrosion in idle boilers yet still allow them to be returned to operation without first requiring draining. The mechanisms of corrosion and the important factors which affect boiler corrosion are discussed. Corrosion inhibitors are classified by the mechanisms they employ for protection. Future work to be conducted is based upon the results of this survey. (Author)
