摘要

Numerous rates and bats were collected during a small animal survey which was conducted on and around Clark AB during the early part of 1966. Since rabies is an important problem in the Philippines the brains of these animals were examined for the presence of rabies antigen in hopes of finding a sylvan reservoir for the disease. Because of the advantages of speed and increased sensitivity which are inherent in the procedure it was decided to examine the brains using the fluorescent antibody technique. During the course of this study 133 bat brains and 123 rat brains were examined. All of the brains were found to be negative for rabies antigen. (Author)
