摘要

The basic concepts of regression and factorial analysis are reviewed and the theory developed, using the notation of linear algebra. The development includes the Gram-Schmidt construction, the linear method of least squares, and the use of orthogonal polynomials. Computing schemes applicable to digital computers are developed, and the basic coding is presented in the FORTRAN language. Fractional replication and the missing value problem are discussed.
