Some Characteristics of Plankton Distribution in Waters of the Equatorial Currents of the Pacific and Indian Oceans.

摘要

Consideration is given to two problems pertaining to the distribution of plankton in equatorial areas of the ocean: (1) the nature of boundaries of tropical areas inhabited by some species and (2) the effect of frontal zones on the quantitive distribution of plankton. The study is based on an analysis of 1189 samples taken in the tropical areas of the Indian Ocean and in the equitorial areas of the eastern Pacific Ocean.
