This Final Report describes the design of silicon linear integrated circuits and the design of a 51-mc FM manpack communications receiver utilizing these circuits. The development of the integrated circuits is detailed starting with the integrated circuit design rules which were followed through circuit design, evaluation and integrated circuit fabrication. The following items were developed under this effort:n(1) RF Amplifier - A low power drain integrated circuit capable ofn15-1: db power gain at 51 mc.n(2) Mixer - A low power drain integrated circuit capable of 20 db conversion gain as a first mixer and 28 db conversion gain as a second mixer.n(3) First Oscillator - A low power drain crystal-controlled integrate circuit oscillator capable of providing sufficient oscillator injec¬tion at frequencies ranging from 36.3 mc to 46.3 mc.n(4) Second Oscillator - A low power drain crystal-controlled integrated circuit oscillator capable of providing oscillator injection at 10.245 mc to the second mixer.n(5) Integrated-Circuit Demonstration Receiver - An FM receiver in-corporating the above listed integrated circuits developed under a prior USAEC contract (see Reference 6). The demonstration receiver meets the ÁN/PRR-9 Manpack receiver electrical performance specifications with a significant reduction in receiver power drain.
