A Study of Military Electronic and Electromechanical Specification Part Identification Requirements

Lack of uniform requirements for marking of military parts together with the progressive decrease in size of electronic components presents problems in identifying components for replacement and failure analysis. A uniform system of marking is recommended which is based on the Federal Supply Code (H4-l), Date Code (MIL-STD-456) and the part number recommended in Section B (Part Numbering) of this report.
