Numerical Computation of the Distance from a Point to an Ellipsoid

A problem of current interest in weapon evaluation studies at the Ballistic Research Laboratories requires an efficient method for computing the distance from an arbitrary point in space to a given ellepsoid. Two techniques for performing the calculation are proposed in the report. (Author)
