摘要

A study was made of the orientation of the secondary neck (through the thickness) for anisotropic titanium sheet specimens. This study was a comparison of experimental results with the predictions of Hill's theory in terms of the directions of the principal strains in tension. In general, the experimental results agreed qualitatively with theoretical determinations. Quantitative agreement was not obtained. Differences between theoretical and experimental derivations are discussed relative to the accuracy of the experimental procedure. The influence of shear on the orientation of the neck is also reported. (Author)
