摘要

The case is considered of a single constant rate source of data communicating with a single sink of data,via a set of fault-liable HF links which are connected to relay stations equipped with storage facilities. Methods of transmission are used between nodes which effectively result in a node ceasing to transmit when a link becomes faulty and only resuming when a link returns to its normal condition. Thus data will queue at a node when the outgoing link is faulty,and all data reaching the sink is error-free. The network has been simulated on a digital computer using the recorded link behavior of two existing H RTTY links. The probability distributions have been obtained for the queues that arise at the nodes and for the total delay involved in transmitting data from the source to the sink. (Author)
