A discussion of the basic theory of deuterizing an ionite is followed by a description of experiments involving (1) the influence of the ratio of column height to diameter on the deuterization of ionites, (2) the influence of flow velocity on deuterization, (3) determination of deuterization of the ionite, and (4) determination of the exchange capacity of deuterized ionite.
