Patients' Views of Patient Care During Aeromedical Evacuation

Seventy-three patients returned from overseas by air were interviewed to elicit critical comments involving patient care. A total of 128 critical incidents was reported. Patients' reactions were generally favorable. Negative incidents occurring before and after aeromedical evacuation were more frequently reported. The frequency of positive incidents increased for the aeromedical evacuation phase of the process. Alternate approaches to the current Patient Reaction Questionnaire are discussed in this report.
