Displacement Bounds for Dynamically Loaded Elastic Structures

摘要

A simplified derivation of an earlier result for finding upper bounds on displacements for dynamically loaded elastic structures is presented. The new derivation permits a better physical appreciation of the technique, and shows that in certain cases the method can be extended to cover plates and fixed beams in which membrane forces due to geometry changes occur.
