A Review of United States Military Counterinsurgency Activities with Selected Minority Groups in South Vietnam.

The study reviews U.S. military counterinsurgency activity, primarily U.S. Army Special Forces activity, with four minority groups in South Vietnam: the Montagnard and Cambodian ethnic groups, and the Hoa Hao and Cao Dai religious minorities. Pertinent activities and identifications of the minority groups are presented historically through December 1965. U.S. military policies toward and relationships with the four minority groups, as an integral part of the counterinsurgency effort in South Vietnam, are reviewed. (Author)
