摘要

The earlier theory for ionization waves in plasmas, where the dielectric relaxation time is very short, is developed to include energydependent relaxation times and mass of the charge carriers. The energydependence in many cases has a considerable influence and may also change the nature of the instabilities earlier predicted. An application to InSb is made. In the last section also the influence of a finite dielectric relaxation time is considered. Within the approximation used the influence is small except for giving rise to another mode corresponding to decay of free charge. An application to intervalley scattering in the double valley conduction band of semiconductors is made and a condition for a negative resistance instability is given. (Author)
