Magnetic Susceptibilities of the Heavier Rare Earth Sodium Molybdates.

摘要

Magnetic susceptibilities are reported for single crystals of the scheelites listed. The compounds are paramagnetic and show large axiol magnetic anisotropy. The data are interpreted with an approximation to the crystal potential of the form. The energy levels and crystal-field parameters are deduced for the Yb compound. The magnetic properties of the other compounds are discussed in light of the crystal field determined for Yb. (Author)
