This Appendix is designed to provide a summary of economic and demographic data to be used in the analysis of the Appalachian economy, and to provide a setting for the preparation of a comprehensive water resources development plan. Information contained in this Appendix includes projections to 1980, 2000 and 2020 for population, employment by industry group, per capita income, and gross output per employee. This information is presented for the United States and the Appalachian Region. For the Appalachian Region, this information is grouped by 27 economic sub-regions, 28 water areas and 59 state planning sub-regions. (Author)
