Origin of the Dispersion of the Complex Magnetic Permeability in Spinel Ferrites

Measurements of the complex magnetic (initial) permeability of spinel ferrites performed as a function of frequency demonstrate a dispersion at radio frequencies as first observed by Snoek. An additional dispersion at microwave frequencies was first observed by Radio. Various theories have been proposed to explain the mechanism of dispersion. This report analyzes these theories and draws conclusions about the validity of the proposed mechanisms. (Author)
