The Variation of the Randomness of Correlations of Orientation of Crystals in Crystalline Polymers

Previous theories for the scattering from crystalline polymers having random orientation correlations were extended to the case of non-randomness where correlated regions deviate from spherical shape. Application is made of the previously suggested technique of measurement of scattered intensity as a function of polarization direction in order to evaluate non-randomness. This technique is applied to a series of low (LD), medium (MD) and high density (HD) polyethylene films crystallized at a series of temperatures. (Author)
