The report describes the significant accomplishments made toward meeting the design goals for the type 62battery. The design effort directed toward lighter battery weight, nonspill features,activated storage and control of battery expansion are described in detail. The report concludes with a final 6.5pound battery design which should meet the requirements for the type 62battery. (Author)
