Problems of the Clinical Aspects, Diagnosis and Therapy of Human Listerellosis

The problem of listerellosis is of great interest to medical science. All scientists studying this zoonotic disease point out that it is encountered more often than it is diagnosed. In view of the extreme polymorphism of the clinical appearances of the disease, and the difficulty of setting a diagnosis, by clinical examination of the patient, it is necessary to develope direct, exact and available methods for laboratory diagnosis of listerellosis. This would allow for the location of patients with listerellosis and a further study of the problems of the clinical aspects, pathogenesis and microbiology of listerellosis. Epidemiological peculiarities of listerelosis of man should be studied in close relationship with the epizootology of this infection. Therefore, attracting the attention of veterinary organizations to listerellosis is a necessary condition for the successful study and combatting of this disease. (Author)
