Electronic Component of the Thermal Conductivity in Semiconductors

摘要

The report is a sequel to AD-651 229, dated February 1967. Here we discuss considerations peculiar to semiconductors and semimetals, such as the influence of carrier concentration and degeneracy on the thermal conductivity and the Wiedemann-Franz-Lorenz law. The electronic component of thermal conductivity for an intrinsic semiconductor is discussed in terms of both electrons and holes. Following from this, the transport properties of an intrinsic semiconductor and the thermal resistance in semiconductors arising from free electrons are discussed in the light of previously developed theory.
