Correlation Study of the Underwater Diffraction Pattern of a Corrugated Air-Water Interface

This experimental investigation examines the underwater diffraction pattern of a corrugated surface insonified by a warbletone (wide band FM) acoustic source. Sound field data is obtained using a variable-level correlation system to measure the pressure amplitudes of the first two forward and back-scattered orders. These measurements are carried out primarily for frequencies near those for which the various scattered orders fail to appear e.g. near the 'cut-off' frequencies. (Author)
