摘要

An analysis of the case of combined steering and braking for a 26 x 8.0-14 Type VIII aircraft tire has been conducted. It has been shown that with a properly working antiskid system the steering effectiveness will be maintained when brakes are applied. The full available ground friction can always be utilized to counteract side forces acting on the nose wheel by exceeding the nose wheel steering angle at which the brake system is cut out. With or without braking, as long as the available ground friction is sufficient to handle these side forces, steering effectiveness will be maintained. (Author)
