This work presents formulas derived for aerothermoelasticity in sandwich plates with a light-weight core, sensitive only to shear stresses, suspended in a supersonic flow. It was assumed that the modulus of elasticity, Poisson's ratio, and the coefficient of thermal expansion were all functions of temperature. As an example, post-buckling deformations were studied in infinite sandwich plates in a supersonic flow with a uniform temperature distribution throughout the thickness. Three basic problems were formulated and solved. (Author)
