The basic problems connected with propagation of elastic vibration in various media are reviewed in popular form. The design of various emitters; the applications of ultrasonic vibration for dispersion, emulsification, coagulation and rectification of liquids, scrubbing of gases and use in metallurgy and metalworking industry are described.
