A Method for the Prediction of the Farfield from Nearfield Amplitude Measurements of a Coherent Sound Field

A method is presented for the prediction of the farfield from nearfield measurements of the amplitude alone of a coherent field. The method is based on a finite series wavefunction expansion for the pressure amplitude in the field. It is shown that with the expansion specialized for a coherent field there is a vast improvement over a previous general method for partially coherent fields. (Author)
