摘要

The general pressure field caused by a heaving sphere floating half submerged in a fluid of finite depth is calculated. A sphere oscillating in an unbounded fluid develops a dipole pressure field. When oscillating on the free surface of a fluid, however, damping and buoyancy forces change the pressure field which now comes under monopole influence as well. The high- and low-frequency limits of singularities in an infinite fluid define the surface conditions for a bounded fluid. The general intermediate frequency case is considered, whereby the pressure field is related to the forces acting on the sphere. (Author)
