Radioprotection: Antiradiation Agent Development and Chemical Radioprotection Research at the School of Aerospace Medicine

摘要

The Radiobiology Division of the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine has been actively engaged for over a decade in research designed to favorably modify the injury resulting from exposure to ionizing radiation. The program has developed concepts, technics, drugs, and scientific data which have described the effects, mechanisms, and clinical manifestations of both the radiations used and the drugs chosen to combat the effects. The program has been reviewed in terms of history, concepts, progress, and what the future may offer. (Author)
