摘要

This report is a study of the enzymology of those enzymes in skin capable of hydrolyzing the peptide bond, i.e.,proteins or synthetic sybstrates in which either the amino group or carboxyl group of an amino acid participates in the catalytically-sensitive bond. Progress to the above end was realized only after it was recognized that the ionic strength was an extremely crucial parameter for the adequate characterization and assay of the skin enzymes. (Author)
