THE POSSIBILITY OF SELF-FOCUSING ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES IN THE IONOSPHERE,

摘要

The possibility of self-focusing waves in the ionosphere is discussed. Since the effects of self-focusing markedly influence various non-linear effects accompanying propagation of an intense light beam in a non-linear medium,the requirements of non-linear optics associated with this phenomena are considered. It is concluded that the existence of self-focusing waves in the ionosphere is possible when using powerful transmitters operating in a continuous regime. (Author)
