Study of the Effects of Nonhomogeneous Target Backgrounds on Photogrammetric Coordinate Measurement

The purpose of this research is to quantitatively investigate the effect of heterogeneous symmetric and nonsymmetric backgrounds on the centering of a black circular measuring mark in sharp circular targets imaged in the vicinity of the fovea centralis. There are basically two types of effects to be investigated: a possible systematic bias, or loss of accuracy, resulting from lack of symmetry of the background, and a reduction in precision of the centering or pointing task resulting from heterogeneity of the target background.
