Forecasting Stratus/Fog Daytime Breaking at Vandenberg Afb

An objective method of forecasting dissipation or non-dissipation of stratus at Vandenberg AFB was developed using the height and strength of the marine inversion as predictors. The method correctly identifies dissipation cases, however, much subjectivity must be used to identify non-dissipation cases. (Author)
