Radar Sea State Analyzer

The theory and description of a Radar Sea State Analyzer are presented. Installation, operation, adjustments, and readout interpretation instructions are also included. The instrument is the product of three years of research to obtain sea state information by using an existing radar as the remote sensor. This device is an attachment to the radar and examines the 'sea return' signals at a selected range within the limits of the radar horizon. The outputs are available in digital and analog form. It is small in size and uses modern semi-conductor techniques, integrated circuits, etc. to achieve stability, accuracy and reliability. (Author)
