The authors attempt to use experimental data to establish a functional relationship between the height of the boundary layer and the turbulence coefficient, the velocity of the geostrophic wind, atmospheric stratification in the boundary layer, and the roughness of the underlying surface. The dissipation parameter is also determined; this parameter characterizes the relationship between the components of the balance equation for turbulent energy. The relationships are determined by analyzing the dimension determining the magnitudes which are represented by the equations. The experimental data consisted of radiosonde observations under non-advective conditions. The determination of the height of the dynamic boundary layer is discussed on the basis of the Ekinan spiral. The dependence of the height of the boundary layer upon the velocity of the geostrophic wind is expressed by equations. In the determination of the dependence of the height of the boundary layer there is examined the function. (Author)
