A Device with Learning Capability

The invention involves a device with learning capacity which contains input, storage, arithmetic and output units. In order to increase the number of recognizable patterns, facilitate replacement of one pattern by another, and also increase the speed of the device, the memory unit for the input field is connected to memory units for storage of 'weights', which are connected in turn to the arithmetic units and to the control devices whose outputs are connected to the information output unit. An external multichannel memory is connected to the artihmetic units. The amplifiers for playback of the tracks containing the address codes and the sign codes of the 'weights' are connected to registers through a 'majority voting unit'. These registers are connected to the memory units for 'weight' storage through the corresponding decoders. (Author)
