Development of V-Ring Localizer Twin Wire Monitor Pickup

The development of a monitor pick-up suitable for use with the V-Ring localizers operating in a capture effect configuration is described. The theoretical basis for a near field twin wire balanced transmission line monitor is established. Preliminary field test data are presented. It is concluded that this type of monitor provides superior performance to existing localizer monitors while at the same time possessing the advantages of lower costs and easier installation. (Author)
