Bond defects adversely affect the structural integrity of components constructed with honeycomb structures and phenolic surfaces. It is the objective of this investigation to determine the ability of infrared scanning techniques to locate hidden defects. The preliminary results demonstrated that it is possible to determine certain bond defects utilizing the Barnes Model T6D Color Scanner System and the Sierra Model 710 Scanner System. (Author)
