摘要

The friction coefficient of the leading face of a tool is one of the more important factors which reflect processes occurring in the zone where chips are formed and come in contact with the tool. Thus, the effects which indicate external conditions of cutting (rate and depth of cut, etc.) as related to the friction coefficient must be studied for their influence on the formation of chips and their contact phenomena. Dependence of the friction coefficient on basic physical and technological parameters of the cutting process is determined by a theoretical equation for the maximum temperature for tool face contact.
