A Diffusivity Measurement Technique for Very High Temperatures

摘要

The report treats analytical aspects of the Double Disc and Heat Shield Methods developed by the authors for the determination of the diffusivity of materials at very high temperatures. These methods employ a periodic irradiation on one side of a thin disc. The phase shift between the temperature variations of the front and back sides is measured and used to determine the diffusivity of the material. The matrix analysis given shows that only for the back side must the heat loss parameter be known or its effect be eliminated by the above-mentioned methods. The success of the techniques is demonstrated. (Author)
