Copy Through Printing Registration System (For the Lithographic Process)

The paper defines the management and technical objectives established for a system which will accurately match (register) the various materials created for production of a multi-color lithographed product. It describes the punched hole and pin design concept which is the key to the registration system. The registration system described begins with preparation of the original copy and proceeds through the reproduction negative, litho plate, and litho press operations to the finished lithographic product on which a calibrated scale printed on each sheet permits direct read out of the degree of registration quality obtained.
