摘要

Two oxygen reference steels have been made and used by six laboratories in a statistically planned trial to assess the analytical performance of reducing fusion techniques at 50 and 200 x 10-4 weight per cent oxygen levels. Laboratory agreement is good and compares very favourably with that obtained in similar trials in the U. S. A. and on the Continent. It was not possible to make a valid comparison with neutron activation techniques because the sample size used in the trial proved, in practice, to be unsuitable for the activation units available.
