Measurements of the elastic modulus, real modulus, of glass fiber-reinforced epoxy and Boron fiber-reinforced aluminum were made by several methods and compared with values from the literature. Static bending, longitudinal pulse propagation in a bar, and longitudinal resonance of a bar were the experimental methods used. The results were compared with static bending, static tension, dynamic bending, and theoretical static values of the elastic moduli taken from the literature. The basic conclusion is that well determined static moduli can be used in dynamic studies of the two materials considered in the report. (Author)
