Two areas of research are briefly discussed. The first was a study in the geochemistry and biological productivity of the Dead Sea. This study was separated into four parts: Chemical analyses of the Dead Sea and Jordan River; The Jordan River system; The isotopic and inorganic geochemistry of the Dead Sea and the springs around it; and The organic geochemistry of the Dead Sea sediments. The second area concerns the development and testing of a successful oceanographic instrument, an in situ pH meter. (Author)
